World Boxing Council heavyweight Champion Tyson Fury has presented a special Green and Gold Belt to his hero, fourteen-year-old Marshall Janson whos an example of courage, determination and of practically getting on with his life.
At the age of one, Marshall from Cornwall, contracted meningitis which caused septicaemia. His vital organs failed three times, his legs and his hands had to be amputated, but this youngster is a tremendous fighter and battled back during his five months stay in Bristol Childrens` hospital and ever since.
Marshall Janson has a foundation called HANDSTAND
With the love of his mum Stephanie his dad Moss and the family, Marshall goes to an ordinary school on the bus, plays soccer, loves skate boarding and tries his very best at everything he does. He`s met the Tottenham Hotspur soccer Team nicknamed Spurs and its captain Harry Kane, who he idolizes.
In April he was invited by Tyson Fury to his WBC title fight against Dillian Whyte. After his win, Tyson Fury invited Marshall into the ring, knelt down and hugged him. Tyson pledged to help Marshall raise money for prosthetic limbs which he needs annually until he`s an adult. Marshall`s family has established a foundation called HANDSTAND which has its own facebook page.
The Green and Gold Belt which our champion presented to this tremendous young champion is a special recognition of his determination to get on with life and make the best of it with an intrepid attitude and positive mindset. Marshall is a marvellous example to us all.
