Vince McMahon quits as CEO and chairman of WWE due to an alleged misconduct investigation.
McMahon will be in charge of the creative content released by the WWE, and his daughter will take the CEO seat while the investigation advances.
After the beginning of the investigation, Vince McMahon will appear on the next SmackDown live show on Friday.
McMahon’s investigation:
The Wall Street Journal informed that the WWE investigated a $3 million payment from McMahon to a female employee who was leaving the organization.
“I have pledged my complete cooperation to the investigation by the special committee, and I will do everything possible to support the investigation,” McMahon said.

According to AP and the Wall Street Journal, “the employee, hired as a paralegal in 2019, has a separation agreement from January that prevents her from discussing her relationship with McMahon or disparaging him.”
In April, the board of investigation found nondisclosure agreements involving a former female WWE employee.
The nondisclosure agreements called the attention of the board, labeling the deal as employee misconduct committed by McMahon and John Laurinaitis.
The WWE reported the organization is working with an independent party to review the work environment among WWE workers.
