When Patrick Beverley arrived at the Lakers from the Minnesota Timberwolves, we all wondered how Russell Westbrook would respond. Initially, nobody tought there would be a problem because both NBA players seemed comfortable around each other. But the real test would come when the two of them played together in a pre-season game. When it comes to Russell Westbrook, his all-time stats are a far cry from the player he has become over the last couple of seasons.

Last night against the Timberwolves, dismal Russell came out to play one more time. It all starts with poor performances and Westbrook was deeply unhappy with his during the first half against Minnesota. At the start of the game, the pre-game ritual was a prelude of what was about to happen. Westbrook appeared distant from the very beginning.

Multiple times had Westbrook unable to follow Darvin Hamm’s indications, he even got into a heated altercation with a Timberwolves player. LeBron James wasn’t happy with Westbrook’s behavior, he seemed very confused about it.

In order to understand what is truly going on with him, crediting his alleged “beef” with Patrick Beverley is not enough. We need to check out the recent news cycle inside the Lakers organization. Many reports from reputable sources have suggested that the team is ready to trade Russell, regardless of whether he is willing to leave or not. This has to be more than enough reason for him to be angry at everybody.

During the game against Minnesota, Westbrook had already been involved in an altercation with a rival and that pre-game ritual he did on his own. But the cherry on top was when Patrick Beverley attempted to get all the players to listen to him. Westbrook wasn’t having any of it, he flat out ignored one of his teammates.

Here you have one of the best players in NBA history (LeBron James) listening to what Beverley had to say. And Westbrook doesn’t even follow what James is doing?This will get him bullied online for the entire season if he remains in the Lakers.
