The Kansas City Chiefs managed to come out victorious from their duel against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers on Sunday night.

Patrick Mahomes led his team to a 41-31 victory over Tom Brady‘s side, this being the first time in four years that the seven-time Super Bowl winner has lost a game while scoring 30 points.

This was the first game between the two men since Tampa Bay‘s 31-9 win over Kansas City in the 2021 Super Bowl LV, one which also took place at Raymond James Stadium.

“When I came into the stadium, I realized that I hadn’t been here, and the bad taste I had last time came into effect,” Mahomes said after the game.

“But it’s still not a playoff game. It’s a regular-season game, which is important. That Super Bowl will always leave a bad taste for me.”

What did Brady say to Mahomes after Bucs defeat

The two world-class quarterbacks had a short chat after Sunday’s game was over, with Brady praising his Kansas City counterpart.

“You look great, keep it up,” Brady told Mahomes.

Maintaining a great relationship

In a recent interview with NBC’s Maria Taylor, Mahomes was full of praise for Brady, explaining that the two men maintain a great relationship.

“You want to not like Tom but he’s just like the best guy,” Mahomes said.

“So it’s hard to not like him, but to be able to play in golf tournaments, and him give me kind of advice and stuff like that. I mean, he’s the GOAT. You want to learn from the best and it’s really cool to have that relationship with him.”
