Following Argentina‘s win over the Netherlands on Friday, punching its ticket into the semifinals of the 2022 FIFA World Cup in Qatar, Lionel Messi shouted at a person offscreen during his postgame interview.
Messi, 35, stared coldly in the same direction for a few seconds before yelling out some offensive words.

“What are you looking at, dummy,” Messi said. “Go on that way, dummy. Go away.”
The interviewer was left with nothing to do, but tried to calm Messi down, who was still heated after the game’s final whistle.
It’s unclear who he was shouting at, as Messi had already had a tense moment with the Dutch bench after the penalty shootout, obviously bleeding over off the field.

After the penalty shootout, Messi exchanged words with Dutch manager Louis van Gaal and his assistant Edgar Davids.
Messi clearly makes a gesture a Davids with his hand, likely saying that they weren’t talking as much as before, now that they are eliminated.
A penalty strike at the 73rd minute gave Messi his 10th World Cup goal, tying Gabriel Batistuta on the country’s all-time leading scorers list for the tournament.
Argentina will now take on Croatia in the semis on Tuesday, where Messi could make history by surpassing Batistuta.
