Mel Gibson may have the opportunity to testify against former producer and partial owner of The Weinstein Company, Harvey Weinstein. According to Los Angeles Supreme Court Judge Lisa B.

According to AP Mel Gibson who is currently 66 years old was a witness to how Harvey Weinstein abused his power to rape his masseuse and friend who has not been named officially to protect her identity.

Another rape and sexual assault count

Currently, Jane Doe #3 adds another rape and sexual assault count against Weinstein who is being accused of 11 counts. Prosecutors said that the event happened after Weinstein got a massage from the woman and then he followed her into the bathroom in Beverly Hills and masturbated. Weinstein pleaded not guilty and denied everything related to non-consensual sexual activity.

Gibson mentioned Weinstein casually and she reacted

Furthermore, prosecutors mentioned that when Gibson mentioned Weinstein’s name casually the woman reacted in a way that gave Gibson the impression that she had suffered a sexual assault.

Judge Lench said that Mel Gibson’s testimony is still being considered and depending on how the witness speaks, she will evaluate to determine if he will be able to testify or not.

Attorneys are asking to cross-examine Gibson

On the other hand, Weinstein’s legal team has argued that if Gibson takes the stand, they should be allowed to cross-examine him about his controversial anti-Semitic comments that he shouted when he was being arrested back in 2006 as well as the recordings of him being racist back in 2010.

They believe Gibson is prejudiced against Jewish faith

Along with Mel Gibson being accused of having anti-Semitic remarks, Weinstein’s legal team also claims that the actor has a personal vendetta against their client because he is Jewish and according to the movie that Gibson directed ‘The Passion of Christ’ it was clear that his message was against the Jewish faith.

“Any evidence of Mr. Gibson’s racism or antisemitism would give rise to a bias against my client, who challenged him,” Werksman said.

Weinstein has been convicted of rape and sexual assault and is currently serving a sentence of 23 years.
