[This story includes minor spoilers for Loki season two.]

Tom Hiddleston is teasing how Loki’s newfound ability to time-slip could bring back characters who have died in the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

Season two of Loki saw the title character learn how to control his time-slipping, allowing him to go to a specific date and time if he ever needed to — or simply wanted to.

Hiddleston marked the first guest on this season of The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon who was allowed to discuss current projects following the end of the 118-day actors strike Wednesday. So, of course, Fallon took full advantage and asked the actor all that he could about the show’s finale Thursday, without revealing any spoilers.

Toward the end of Hiddleston’s appearance, the late night host asked the actor to share his thoughts on a few Marvel fan theories, one of which was about how his time-slipping could play out in the MCU.

“Since Loki knows how to time-slip now, can he go find someone like Tony Stark, aka Iron Man?” Fallon asked, to which Hiddleston replied while pointing finger guns at the host. “This guy. This is investigative journalism right here! I mean…time-slipping technically gives Loki some interesting moves he can make.”

He explained that Loki can, indeed, move from past, present and future, so there is a world in which he could go to a point in time when Tony Stark, Natasha Romanoff aka Black Widow, or any other character who has died is still alive. Hiddleston became a little nervous when pointing out if the dead truly stay dead in the Marvel universe, which famously brings back characters after they’ve died.

“Speaking for myself, Loki’s died a few times. I’m still here,” Hiddleston said. “I don’t know that death is necessarily…I mean death is — death is up for grabs, as an existential question! That’s all I can give you!”

All episodes of Loki season two are streaming on Disney+ now.
