The family of a former company director who was allegedly murdered at his home in Somerset have said they are “completely heartbroken.”
Sarah Ashwell, 47, has been formally identified as the victim of a “suspicious death” after her body was found at her home in Wells Sunday night.

Arrested
Avon and Somerset Police say three men have been arrested and all remain in custody as part of the murder investigation.
The force said it also made a mandatory formal referral to the IOPC (Independent Office of Police Conduct) due to recent police contact with Sarah.
Since then, Sarah’s family has paid tribute to her “very loved” mother, saying that “a lot of people were so fond of her.”
Statement
In a statement, they said: ‘We are absolutely devastated by what happened to Sarah, whom we all love so much.
Nothing can prepare you for such terrible news and we are completely heartbroken. Sarah still had a lot of her life to live.
‘It is unbearable for us to think that this has been taken from her and that she has been taken from us.
We are incredibly touched by the many kind tributes that friends and loved ones have posted on social media in recent days.
“It is a consolation for us to remember how well they loved her and that so many people were so fond of her.”
Mourners have also paid their respects to Sarah online, with one woman writing: ‘I can’t understand this at all … this world is just horrible.
‘My love and thoughts with her children not only now but forever and her family … heartbreaking news.’
Another wrote: ‘RIP Sarah always remembers our laughs at work, now you are in the arms of angels, my friend, until we meet again.’

And a third added: ‘I can’t believe what I’m hearing, shocked and saddened. Good memories of our childhood that I will treasure.
“Rest, angel, now you are at peace.”
Detective Superintendent Gary Haskins, who leads the felony investigation team, is leading the investigation into Sarah’s death.
He said: ‘From our research so far it is clear that Sarah was very much loved as a daughter, mother and friend.
‘Our family liaison officers are supporting her parents and her two children and the thoughts of the entire team are with them. We ask that you be given privacy and consideration for the loss of it.
Investigation
“This is complex and fast-moving research and we are exploring a number of lines of inquiry. We thank everyone who contacted us with information, shared CCTV, and spent time speaking with officers in house-to-house consultations.
‘We have already made three arrests and are conducting a thorough and detailed forensic examination of Sarah’s home. The team is determined to find justice for Sarah and answers for her family.
“ We want to hear from you if you were on South Street on Sunday, if you have any dash cameras, CCTV or phone images of the area that day, or any other information that can help us piece together Sarah’s last hours. ”
