People have been evacuated from Blackpool Tower on Thursday amid reports of a fire.
Pictures and videos have been shared on social media showing flames coming from the top of the iconic structure. The incident was first reported at around 2.15pm today (December 28) and a number of people have been evacuated, a Blackpool Tower spokesperson told LancsLive.
Lancashire Fire and Rescue Service said six fire engines and a drone team are in attendance and people are being urged to ‘stay away from the area.’

One witness posted on Facebook saying: “Blackpool tower on fire” while another said: “Top of Blackpool Tower is on fire!!!”
