Chiwetel Ejiofor Doesn’t Have a Wife but Has Been Linked to Several Famous Women

Although he has been linked to several women, no one has yet been called Chiwetel Ejiofor’s wife. The 45-year-old’s dating history is a short one. It includes a relationship with an actress in a James Bond film that was hidden for years.

The British actor is best known for portraying Solomon Northup in Steve McQueen’s “12 Years a Slave” for which he received Golden Globe and Academy Award nominations for Best Actor. His other notable performances were in “The Martian” and the critically acclaimed “Amistad.”

With all the success on the big screen, Ejiofor’s private life has received more and more attention. However, the British actor keeps much of it out of the spotlight. He has reportedly dated Naomie Harris, Lupita Nyong’o, Sari Mercer, and Frances Aaternir.

Chiwetel Ejiofor Dated Naomie Harris Secretly When They Were in Their Twenties

There is little information available about Ejiofor and Harris’ love story as they are two people who keep much of their personal lives out of the spotlight. While on “The Drew Barrymore Show” in 2022, the actress pointed out that she never talks about her private life but credited Drew Barrymore‘s researcher for discovering it.

Harris said she and Ejiofor dated when they were in their 20s. This was sometime in the early 2000s when her career was taking off. Although she mentioned in the interview that their time together was brief, it is reported that it lasted for seven years, but the couple kept it hidden so it wouldn’t interfere with their careers.

Their breakup date is said to have been in 2007, but the reason for their split is not publicly known. Still, the pair allegedly had a conversation about marriage, but unfortunately, it did not materialize. Nevertheless, their ending was relatively amicable, and they maintained a cordial relationship.

Harris, who has portrayed the popular character Miss Moneypenny in Daniel Craig‘s James Bond movies, speaks highly of her former partner. She even voiced her support for Ejiofor to become the next Agent 007. Many names, including Idris Elba, Tom Hardy, and Henry Cavill, have been suggested to take up the iconic role.

While shooting the biographical drama, “12 Years a Slave,” Ejiofor was rumored to be in an on-set romance with Kenyan-Mexican actress Lupita Nyong’o. The successful film featured a star-studded acting line-up that included the likes of Brad Pitt and Benedict Cumberbatch. Nyong’o and Ejiofor’s relationship is said to have fizzled out as filming ended.

In 2015, it was reported that he had split from his girlfriend, model Mercer. However, no official statement about their relationship or breakup was given by either party. An insider revealed that it was a surprise to learn of their separation. They had been spotted together at the Oscars that year.

A year later, it was reported that the actor was dating another model, Aaternir. Despite keeping a relatively low profile for much of their time together, they had a publicized date night in 2016 when they went to an NBA match in New York. Speculation about their relationship began when they attended the premiere of “The Martian” together.

Chiwetel Ejiofor Is Not Married, but It’s Not Clear If He’s Dating Anyone

Ejiofor has not been linked to anyone lately. His relationship with Aaternir was the last of his known relationships. However, the couple has not been seen together since 2019, which may suggest that they are no longer together.

The Academy Award-nominated actor is off social media, making it more difficult to track his personal life. However, he certainly is not yet married.

He seems to be currently single and busy with his work. He has his hands tied with the movie “Rob Peace ” in which he has been involved in multiple roles, on-screen and off-screen, including acting, screenplay, and directing.

The film, which stars Camila Cabello and Mary J. Blige, is currently being filmed. It follows the life of Rob Peace, a young man raised in the crime-infested parts of Newark, New Jersey but later graduated with degrees in molecular biophysics and biochemistry from Yale. Sadly, he was killed in 2011 in a drug-related shooting.
