Dad Is Tired of Hearing One of His Daughters Doesn’t Look Like Him, Secretly Takes a Dna Test

When people constantly told a man that his younger daughter didn’t look like him, he decided to act on their comments and secretly took a DNA test. Little did he know that his life would change forever after seeing the results. 

Hearing other people talk about your child’s physical appearance might not always be the best experience. It takes a toll on a parent when people tell them that their child looks nothing like them. 

However, some people choose not to pay attention to what people say, while others take their opinions seriously and act upon them quickly. Sometimes, doing so makes a million questions pop up in the person’s mind, and they start looking at things differently. Something similar happened with the man in today’s story.

EVERYTHING SEEMED FINE

Chris lived with his wife and two daughters in his Australian home. He was happy to be a loving father to his girls and a caring husband to his wife, unaware of how his life would soon take an unexpected turn. 

Everything seemed fine until people told Chris that his younger daughter didn’t resemble him. They pointed out how her facial features were completely different, trying to make him suspicious about her paternity.

However, Chris chose not to pay attention to people’s comments. He ignored them but couldn’t continue to do so because they had become nagging.

THE OTHER FATHER 

Aside from people’s comments, other strange incidents also bothered Chris. He recalled feeling confused when his younger daughter talked about her “other father.” He told her:

“I am your dad. There is no other dad.”

That’s when Chris’s younger one said something unbelievable. She revealed that there was another man, her “daddy,” who visited her often when Chris wasn’t around.

TAKING ACTION

The thought of another man entering his house and meeting his wife and children behind his back had started bothering him. He wasn’t sure if his younger daughter was telling the truth, but he also had no idea if she was lying or joking. 

To clear his doubts, Chris decided to do a paternity test on his little one to know if she was really his daughter. People’s comments and his daughter’s words had made him curious to find out if his doubts were genuine.

At that stage, Chris could also recall that his wife had started behaving strangely in the past. The only thing that could confirm whether his suspicions were correct was an at-home DNA test. He bought the kit and took his daughter’s DNA sample behind his wife’s back. He kept it a secret until he got the results.

THE RESULTS

Chris could feel his heart racing when the mailman handed the envelope to him. He immediately went inside his house and took a deep breath before opening the sealed envelope.

Reading the test results was one of the most nerve-wracking moments of Chris’s life. He was shocked to know that the people who told him his daughter didn’t resemble him were correct. The results proved that Chris’s younger daughter wasn’t biologically his. He recalled:

“You think you are prepared. You think, ‘Oh, what if the results are negative?’ And, of course, you realize there could be that possibility. But when that letter [test results] comes, it just blows you away.”

LIFE-CHANGING EVENTS

Soon after finding out the truth, Chris’s life changed. He could have never imagined that his daughter was someone else’s child, but now he had to accept the shocking truth.

What hurt him more was that his wife cheated on him. She chose another man over him while still being married to him. Chris hadn’t expected his wife to cheat on him. He recalled what happened when he confronted his wife about the test results:

“She [Chris’s younger daughter] was told I’m not her dad. And she was never to call me dad ever again.”

THE STRANGE NIGHT

After knowing that his wife had cheated on him, Chris recalled what happened before his younger daughter was born. He revealed that his wife had stopped being intimate with him for almost a year until she became affectionate towards him out of the blue one night. 

Soon after that day, Chris’s wife announced that she was pregnant and that they couldn’t get intimate anymore because of it. Chris confessed:

“I was set up to believe that she was my child.”

PARTING WAYS

Chris and his wife mutually agreed to part ways, but they also separated their daughters from each other. Chris lived with his older daughter, who was biologically his, while his wife lived with his younger daughter. 

At first, Chris had to pay child support for his younger daughter, but he realized he didn’t have to pay it because she wasn’t biologically his. He was on the verge of selling his house when he told his wife about not paying the child support anymore. 

After all that had happened in his life, Chris hoped that his younger daughter would knock on his door and spend some time with her old father one day. He also said he didn’t regret taking the test because it made him discover the truth.
