ITV Emmerdale fans have been left questioning Amelia’s parenting after she left her baby Esther in the care of Angelica King. Desperate for childcare while short on money, Amelia left Esther in the care of Angelica while she went to work.
But the promise of a free manicure in return for a few hours of childcare wasn’t enough to keep Angelica around, and it wasn’t long before she left Esther in the house alone to go on a walk with Heath Hope – but she did make sure to take the baby monitor with her.
Meanwhile, Amelia, who’d been slaving away for more cash at Claudette Anderson’s house, heard her baby crying from all the way down the street.

Realising that it was Esther, she ran to the house and started banging on the door for Angelica to let her in, only for her to appear behind her with the baby alarm in hand, as disapproving viewers took to social media to say: “Amelia will dump the kid on anyone!” and another wrote: “You shouldn’t leave your baby with a child Amelia.”
Viewers were also left shocked that the baby’s cries had been heard so clearly from all the way down the street. One viewer wrote on X: “That must be the loudest baby cry in the history of baby cry. Heard across the street and bit down the road…” another declared Esther the “loudest baby in Yorkshire, possibly the world” and a third said: “Amazing baby, not even house walls, double glazing and the width of a front garden and the street can muffle her cries.”
After gaining entry to the house and being reunited with her daughter, Amelia made an emotional confession to Claudette as she expressed her worry about not being able to afford Christmas presents for her young child, or visit her dad, Dan Spencer, who was imprisoned for manslaughter in August.
Claudette questioned whether Amelia should have left the baby in the care of someone more responsible, such as Tracy, to which she responded: “I can’t pay Tracy Claudette or anyone, or else I may as well not be working, I promised Angelica a free manicure.” To which Claudette responded: “A manicure, that’s all your daughter’s safety is worth?” and Amelia declared herself “a terrible mum.”
