Jim Carr, the Liberal MP for Winnipeg South Centre, will be remembered for his dedication and his ability to build bridges. At the age of 71, he passed away after a long battle with cancer.
Carr’s death was announced in the House of Commons by Winnipeg MP Kevin Lamoureux. There is no doubt that Jim is passionate about his country, he said.
After the shadow news was announced, the chamber was filled with gasps and silence. His death occurred peacefully at home, surrounded by family and loved ones, according to his obituary.
According to Carr in one of his final interviews with CBC’s Power & Politics, despite his failing health, he is thankful for another opportunity to serve the country he loved so much.
Physically, he wasn’t in great shape, but emotionally, he was solid and grateful for the chance to serve his country. “I love every inch of this country.
Jim Carr Cause Of death:
At the age of 71, the former cabinet minister passed away after battling cancer for many years. His family expressed their gratitude to doctors, nurses, and medical staff for the care he received over the past three years.
As well as serving as natural resources minister and minister of international trade diversification, Carr also served as special representative for the Prairies from 2015 to 2019.
Who is Jim Carr?

His professional career began as an oboist in the Winnipeg Symphony Orchestra, and then he attended McGill University.
Upon graduating from university, he worked for the Winnipeg Free Press as an editorial writer and columnist, became executive director of the Manitoba Arts Council, and served as president of the Manitoba Business Council. The Manitoba Legislative Assembly elected him from 1988-1992 for the Liberal Party.
He received the Order of Manitoba in 2011 for his contributions to the province. Throughout his career, he advocated for the Jewish community, met often, and appeared frequently at community events.
