Goldie Hawn's Daughter-In-Law Finally Shows Hidden Son Who Brings Grandma 'Incredible Joy'

Goldie Hawn and Kurt Russel have one of the longest-standing relationships in Hollywood, even though they have never tied the knot. Russell became Hawn’s children’s father figure and is now a grandfather to their children.

Hawn and Russell have shared much of their lives together, and there are no signs of their relationship slowing down. After fast-paced Hollywood careers, they are now more focused on their family.

Hawn welcomed two children, Kate and Oliver Hudson, with her ex-husband Bill Hudson. Yet after their relationship ended, Russell became their father. Kate has now provided Hawn and Russell with grandchildren Ryder, Bingham, and Rani.

Oliver also has three children of his own, Wilder, Bodhi, and Rio. Hawn and Russell also welcomed a son of their own, Wyatt. However, he lives a more private life than his siblings.

Wyatt enjoys his privacy so much that he secretly married his wife, Meredith Hagner, in 2019. Wyatt proposed in 2019, and they tied the knot in Hawn’s house in Aspen, Colorado, where the family often vacations.

By November 2020, Meredith took to Instagram to announce that she and Wyatt were expecting their first child together. She shared two photos from her baby shower and said in the caption that she and Wyatt were “overjoyed” at the prospect of becoming parents.

Hawn and Kate were both in attendance at the baby shower, and sources close to the family say that Hawn and Meredith get along well. Hawn has even described her son’s wife as “pretty awesome.”

During Meredith’s pregnancy, she, Hawn, Russell, and Wyatt were all quarantined in Aspen together as Meredith’s pregnancy was during the height of the pandemic. Hawn reflected on the time fondly.

She told a story of how they were in RVs, and Russell was on the right side of the road when their son drove past them. Hawn thought her son must be over the speed limit, but it turned out that Russell was going incredibly slow and causing a traffic jam.

Hawn said it was something so simple, but it brought their family so much entertainment in the hours after it happened. She reminisced:

“When we sat around the campfire that night, the laughs went on for fifteen minutes straight.”

Hawn revealed that when they were together during this time, they ate breakfast together and mostly sat together and talked. She said she tried to “savor” each moment she had with her son and his wife.

Hawn and Russell’s “Magic” Grandson

Although Russell considers Kate and Oliver’s children to be his own grandchildren, his first biological and shared grandchild with Hawn was born in March 2021. Meredith, Hawn’s “amazing” daughter-in-law, revealed the news on Instagram.

She shared a series of photos of her and Wyatt in their RV, which they named Carnella, and said that their baby was born two weeks after the pictures were taken. She revealed her son’s name was Buddy Pine Russell. She described the journey to motherhood as “magic.”

After his son was born to him and his wife, Wyatt also admitted he thought that being a father was a one-of-a-kind experience and gushed:

“Biologically, I think it does something to your brain where you just erase half your life before you’ve lived there. And now it’s about him and your family and trying to balance everything, and time and new, amazing problems, amazing issues to have.”

The actor also revealed that everything he thought fatherhood was going to be was not what happened, and he instead got so much more than he ever thought he was going to when his son was born.

While Wyatt and Meredith have remained private about their son on social media, on February 4, 2023, she finally gave a glimpse of her now-toddler. She shared a photo of kissing her son’s head and said he was four months old at the time.

Hawn and Russell’s Grandparenting

Hawn has often talked about how much she loves her grandchildren and what they have done for her during their lives. She believes family is of the utmost importance in any person’s life, and having a solid connection with one’s family is what will make a person happy.

In 2020, when the world was quarantining to stay healthy, Hawn said it was challenging to be apart from her grandchildren. She mused:

“My grandkids call me GoGo, and they are like: ‘GoGo, I wish I could just hug you!’ And that is so hard.”

Wyatt said that his children call his mother and father Gogo and Gogi, respectively, because those are their nicknames in life. Russell has even named his own wine after the nickname his grandchildren call him. Hawn has said her grandchildren bring her “incredible joy.”
