As a Hollywood star and a top NFL quarterback, it’s hard to imagine that Shailene Woodley and Aaron Rodgers have a lot of time for casual dating. The couple found that the pandemic lockdown allowed them to slow down and connect. In an interview with The Hollywood Reporter, Woodley said that she spent most of that time with Rodgers, and their time off gave them the opportunity to get to know each other.
She also told the Hollywood Reporter that the two share friends in common. These unnamed friends, who Woodley described as “musicians,” introduced the pair. Woodley said she appreciated being able to get close to Rodgers out of the public eye. “There was a sense of anonymity that otherwise I don’t think we would have had. We were really able to get to know one another the way we wanted to get to know one another and not have any noise or chaos around us.”
In an interview on “The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon,” Woodley admitted that she never thought she would be engaged to a football superstar. “I never thought I’d be engaged to someone who threw balls for a living,” she confessed. “I still have never been to a football game. And before I met him, I’d never seen one football game before. I don’t know him as a football guy. I know him as the nerd who wants to host ‘Jeopardy!'”
