Jake DeVito Followed Dad Danny DeVito’s Path in the Entertainment Industry

Jake DeVito is the youngest child of Danny DeVito’s children. His famous parents have exposed him to the workings of Hollywood movie sets since he was a child, and he has used the experience gained to forge a career of his own.

In all seriousness, 5′ 5″ film producer Jake DeVito strikes a lengthy figure next to his comedy legend father, Danny DeVito. Jake, whose birth information is not public, is the son of the comedian and his actress wife, Rhea Perlman. He also was cast as an actor in 2005 and added to his acting credits a decade later.

Jake is the younger brother of Gracie DeVito and Lucy DeVito. His sister Gracie shares the same versatility he’s displayed, making a name for herself in Hollywood as an actress and producer on three projects, including the film “Amboy,” in which he stars. Jake DeVito Grew up on Set While His Parents Worked

Growing up, Jake and his sister were privy to a secondary experience of life as a Hollywood star. During an AP Entertainment interview, Jake dispelled that he was on movie sets before he could enter the field as a professional and extended on the joys of being a child of the “Throw Momma from the Train” stars, saying:

“I think it was a great growing-up experience for us. Our parents had a lot of amazing, interesting characters around all the time. We were doing a lot of, I guess, unusual things when we were growing up, in traveling to strange places and being on set, which is a really fun experience as a kid.”

Despite the opportunities of enjoying the star life, younger Jake found more joy in spending time with his friends from the community he grew up in. While growing up outside of the Instagram era, Jake found that his parents were protective of him and his sister, almost demanding that the press keep their distance from them.

Jake Devito Became a Successful Producer & Made Projects with Dad

Jake’s parents’ love for acting and filmmaking has trickled into his DNA. He debuted as an actor in 2005 and has a few credits to his name. His first encounter with acting was in the Skee Skinner drama, “Pieces of a Dream.” He followed up his inaugural casting with an appearance in “Amboy” alongside “Billions” star Paul Giamatti.

Jake, however, prefers to contribute to film from behind-the-camera lenses. He has done extensive work as a producer since 2014. Jake produced “The Better Angels” in 2014, starring the gratefully drug-free actor Wes Bentley. He also has production credits on “Quicksand” and “Fair Chase,” that released later that year.

Danny’s son has worked with him on a couple of projects between 2016 and 2022. “Curmudgeons” — a 16-minute short film — is Jake’s first producer credit starring his father and sister. A HeyUGuys interviewer once led Jake to admit that there’s an open line for constructive criticism when working with his family.

Jake produced another short film four years later, a fantasy horror titled “Wererock.” The film stars Danielle Taddei, who has also appeared as a ballet teacher in the ever-popular TV series, “Everybody Hates Chris.”

The producer linked up with his sister and father for the second time as an executive producer of the animated series, “Little Demon.” The animation, released in 2022, features his father and sister in voice-over roles, along with Jeff Baena’s wife, Audrey Plaza, as the lead.

Jake Devito Remains Semi-secretive about His Personal Life

Although the “Wererock” producer is somewhat of a public figure as the child of celebrities and a filmmaker, he prefers a life of privacy. As this article’s creation, Jake’s social media reveals very little about his private life. He has a private Instagram account that currently hosts no posts.

Jake is currently active on Twitter; however, the animation series is the primary discussion on his account. He once tagged Lucy and Danny in a tweet, writing, “this is so much like my childhood,” seemingly referencing the animation. He once jokingly confirmed that his father is “insane” when he retweeted the “Get Shorty” star.

Jake maintains a close relationship with his “insane” comedian father. So much so that Danny video-called his son while watching a Los Angeles Lakers and Sacramento Kings basketball match on January 18. Danny attended the game with Lucy but did not leave his son out of the exciting equation.

Jake is working on cementing himself as a Hollywood producer under his parents’ guidance, who have seen and done it all. Much like his parents’ protection of him when he was young, the producer keeps a tight lip about his personal life, closing off details about his marital status.

Fans can expect the release of “St. Sebastian” any time in the future as his IMDb profile confirms that the film starring Jeffrey Wright’s “O.G.” co-star, Willaim Fitchner, is wholly produced.
