Jennifer Dulos Had Five Children: More about Their Lives

Jennifer Dulos, a New Canaan, Connecticut resident, went missing three years ago after she sent her children to school. Now, Jennifer’s five children and her family members are still trying to pick up the pieces after the tragedy devastated their world.

Jennifer Dulos, then 50, disappeared on May 29, 2019, after a custody battle with her estranged husband, Fotis Dulos. Fotis was reportedly charged with Jennifer’s murder in early 2020 after an extensive police search yielded no results, but he was released after posting $6 million bail.

However, both of Fotis’ alleged accomplices also faced criminal charges. While the case remains unresolved, Carrie Luft, a representative for the family, stated that protecting and keeping the privacy of Jennifer’s children is a top priority.

Jennifer Dulos’ Five Children

According to reports, Jennifer’s mother, Gloria Farber, took care of Jennifer’s five children after her mysterious disappearance. Around Thanksgiving in 2019, the family released a statement expressing their appreciation for the children’s good health.

On May 2020, the family issued another declaration assuring the public that their children were secure and cared for. The children’s resemblance to Jennifer grows stronger day by day. The statement read:

“They are safe and surrounded by love and support…Gloria, their grandmother and guardian, is also healthy and well, for which we are so grateful during this precious time.”

Three Years after Jennifer Disappeared

According to New York Post, on May 24, 2022, the bereaved family marked the third anniversary of Jennifer’s mysterious disappearance, and they recently expressed how the “immeasurable loss” continues to haunt them. Jennifer’s body remains missing.

Jennifer was last seen dropping off her children at school on May 24, 2019, and was reportedly presumed dead or murdered. Jennifer’s children include two sets of twins, ages 16 and 13. The older pair of twins have another 11-year-old sibling.

Carrie reiterated Jennifer’s children’s well-being and noted that they are “thriving and doing well,” and so is their grandmother. Even with their loss, Carrie said they delight in Jennifer‘s presence and “celebrate her spirit.”

However, Carrie also emphasized that the progression of time has not done much to heal the family’s wounds since Jennifer disappeared and was reportedly “murdered.”

Gloria seemed heartbroken over Jennifer’s unresolved case as she declined to provide a statement after the New York Post tried to reach her at her Manhattan apartment.

In addition to their statement, Jennifer’s family also mentioned an open investigation into her reported murder and a search for her missing body.

Carrie expressed gratitude to the Connecticut State Police for their unwavering commitment throughout the investigation, which garnered national attention.

As the court proceedings resumed, Carrie said they awaited the next steps of the case. Furthermore, the family is awaiting the outcome of the legal proceedings of the two key individuals involved in Jennifer’s disappearance.

Michelle Troconis and Kent Mawhinney were both charged with conspiracy to commit murder for allegedly plotting with Fotis to murder his wife and aid in the cover-up.

In a public statement released in June 2019, just a month after his former wife disappeared, Fotis stated that his children are “the center of his world.”

Michelle was Fotis’ former girlfriend, while Kent was one of Fotis’ attorneys at the time, in addition to allegedly taking part in Jennifer’s murder.

Where Are Dulos’ Children Now

Carrie was impressed by the resilience displayed by Jennifer’s children in the wake of a terrible event. Carrie said she was thankful the children had a strong sense of empathy and curiosity about the world surrounding them. She added:

“And, as ever, we are deeply thankful to the New Canaan and Connecticut State Police for their ongoing efforts to solve this case and bring those responsible to justice.”

Michael Meehan, the lawyer who represented Jennifer’s children, reportedly asked the court about his future legal responsibilities in early January 2020, and it stated Meehan was never removed from the case.

Fotis and Jennifer tied the knot in 2004, but their marriage was fraught with problems even before they filed for divorce. Jennifer once expressed concern for her children’s safety after they filed for divorce.

In a public statement released in June 2019, just a month after his former wife disappeared, Fotis stated that his children are “the center of his world.”

In his statement, Jennifer’s late estranged husband also said that he would worry about Jennifer and their children. Still, he also assured the kids that everything would be fine in the end, even if they were in a difficult situation.

After being released on bail, Fotis reportedly attempted suicide and was admitted to the hospital. Luft said the children also paid a visit to their father in the hospital before he passed away by removing his life support.

Luft went on to say that she completely understood the children’s wish to see and bid farewell to their father. She stated that they arranged the visitation with the assistance of hospital personnel.

Since the children have lost their mother and father, all within eight months, Carrie also stated that the family’s main priorities now are the kids’ well-being and the continuous protection of their private lives.

Jennifer’s children are still living with their grandmother in Manhattan. Under Gloria’s care, they form new traditions and create positive memories with those who care about them.

Meanwhile, Lifetime Network adapted Jennifer’s story into the film “Gone Mom: The Disappearance of Jennifer Dulos” and the documentary “Beyond the Headlines: The Jennifer Dulos Story.”

The circumstances surrounding Jennifer’s case and her children’s lives continue to pique the public’s interest. Cases involving Betty Broderick and Chris Watts were just two of the many criminal acts that shocked the public.
