A light plane with at least two people on board has crashed at Mount Beauty Airport, the Country Fire Authority (CFA) said.
Emergency services were called just after 1.30pm on Saturday with reports of “a possible light plane crash” in the small town in north-eastern Victoria.
“Volunteer crews and rescue from CFA Mount Beauty fire brigade and Tawonga responded,” a CFA spokesperson told The Sunday Age.
“Once on scene they found two persons in a crashed light plane.”
Police and ambulance are at the scene of the crash. VicEmergency has deemed the situation “under control” on its website.
The CFA was unable to confirm any more details and said the assistant chief fire officer was on his way to the scene.
“As we get further information we will provide more details,” the spokesperson said.
Victoria Police and Ambulance Victoria have been contacted for comment.
