Shaina Bell claimed her children were “her world,” and she could never imagine hurting them. She often left them alone when she went to work.

However, the children’s father thought otherwise and called the cops on her. They arrested her for putting her children’s lives in danger.

THE HARDWORKING MOTHER

Bell worked at Little Caeser’s to make ends meet while raising three children. She had dedicated her life to taking care of them and could never imagine putting them in danger.

On the morning of February 11, 2021, her daughter said she wanted to stay in the motel room with her sister. Considering that her children were growing old, she thought they would be safe by themselves. She also thought she wasn’t putting them in danger because her workplace was right at the end of the street.

Little did she know that the children’s father would call the cops on her for leaving the children in the motel room. She was shocked when they came to arrest her from her workplace.

THE POLICE ARRESTED HER

When the police told her why they were arresting her, she told them she always sent someone to check up on her children whenever she left them alone.

She spent the night in jail while the police handed over her children to their father.

However, they didn’t listen to her explanation and took her to the police station. They charged her for endangering her children’s lives.

SHE DIDN’T BLAME ANYONE

Despite knowing who called the cops on her, Bell said she didn’t want to blame anyone for the unfortunate incident. She said:

“I never set the blame on anybody for anything because at the end of the day, nobody left my kids in the hotel but me.”

She spent the night in jail while the police handed over her children to their father. She confessed it was embarrassing when the police showed up at her workplace.

IT BROKE HER

It wasn’t easy for Bell to digest everything that had happened to her. She was heartbroken after knowing that people thought she didn’t care about her children. She said:

“My kids bring me joy. They make me laugh. They’re my world. I would never do anything to harm my kids. My kids are everything to me.”

HER MOTHER SET UP A GOFUNDME PAGE

Bell’s mother, Danielle Hosey, couldn’t see her daughter suffering because of a minor incident, so she decided to set up a GoFundMe page. The main aim of the fundraiser was to enable Bell to get a house for herself.

The fundraiser’s goal was $5,000, but the donations went way beyond. Since the news of Bell’s arrest went viral within no time, many people sympathized with her since they knew she was not at fault. She confessed:

“A lot of people are saying hurtful things, but a lot of people are also being there for me and showing great support.”

Since the fundraiser went live on February 14, 2021, Bell’s mother collected more than $165,000 for her daughter and grandchildren.

SHE BOUGHT A HOUSE

With the help of thousands of people worldwide, Bell managed to buy a house. Hosey posted an update on the GoFundMe page, stating:

“She did it! She was able to buy a home. They are not settled in yet, but the biggest part of the process has been taken care of.”

Pierre Thomas, the CEO of Quality Control Music, donated $10,000 to the young mother, while NBA player JaVale McGee gave $5,000. They were among the top donors for Shaina Bell.

THE COURT’S DECISION

Meanwhile, Shaina’s case proceeded in court. After three months, the court decided to favor the young mother, and she was not found guilty.

Jeffrey Adler, the Judge for Shaina’s case, said he was “offended” when the case went to court. He said the police shouldn’t have arrested her, and other serious offenders were roaming around freely.

The judge believed the Children Services officials should have looked after Bell’s case instead of the police. However, he was happy that the young mother had learned a lesson.
