The young daughter of a famous Sheffield Wednesday super fan has tragically died – prompting moving tributes from the club.
Paul ‘Tango’ Gregory, one of the most famous football fans in the country, announced the news on Twitter yesterday that his daughter Lauren, aged just 29, had sadly passed away. He did not share any details of his daughter’s death but wrote how “devastated and heartbroken” he is.
@Tango1867 wrote: “The post that any parent shouldn’t have to make. Today Lauren gained her wings and has flown to heaven, devastated, heartbroken. My life will never be the same. Daddy’s little princess, love you to the moon and back forever.”

His heartbreaking post was met with an outpouring of support from football fans all over. Sheffield Wednesday also posted in tribute to Lauren. They wrote: “So sorry to hear of your loss, Paul. The Wednesday family are thinking of you all.”
Paul, who got the nickname Tango on an away trip to Crystal Palace when he took his shirt off and the home crowd decided he looked like the man from the ‘You’ve been Tango’d’ advert, has been inundated with support from fellow fans and fans from rival clubs.
