One person has been left in a life threatening condition following a three-car smash on the M62 close to Huddersfield yesterday, with another being treated for injuries.
The crash has happened in-between J22 and J23 on the M62 on Friday, December, 15 shortly before 9pm. According to traffic scanners, vehicles were held eastbound from 9.35pm last night following the crash.
Emergency services attended the scene and it has now been confirmed that two people were injured in the serious collision and taken to hospital, with one of those people currently fighting for their life.

A spokesperson for West Yorkshire Police confirmed: “Emergency services were called to a three-vehicle road traffic collision on the eastbound M62, close to junction 23, at 8:55pm last night (15/12).

“Two people were taken to hospital to be treated for injuries. One of those people’s injuries are described as life threatening. The M62 eastbound was closed in the area while investigations took place and was partially reopened at 5:10am, before being fully reopened a short time later.”
The M62 remained shut in the early hours of this morning while traffic officers carry out investigation work following a crash. However, it has since reopened, National Highways confirmed.
They tweeted: “This incident has now cleared, and the #M62 is now OPEN eastbound between J22 #A672 #Ripponden & J24 #Huddersfield. Thanks for your patience if you were held up overnight. There is no significant congestion in the area.”
