Woman missing after house fire in Woodbridge

WOODBRIDGE, New Jersey (WABC) — A woman is still missing after flames ripped through a home in Woodbridge on Friday morning.

Flames could be seen shooting through the roof of the home on Greenbrook Avenue in the Keasby section before the house collapsed.

The family has lived on the block for decades and neighbors say the son has special needs and usually collects metals to make money.

His mother, believed to be in her 70s, is still missing and neighbors expressed their concern later Friday.

Authorities have brought in a cadaver dog to help in the search.

One firefighter and one police officer were being evaluated for injuries.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.

Anyone with information is asked to call Detective Thomas Ratajczak of the Woodbridge Police Department at 732-634-7700 or Detective Rosario of the Middlesex County Prosecutor’s Office at 732-745-3289.
