Green Bay Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers will not be disciplined by the National Football League (NFL) for taking ayahuasca.

NFL spokesman Brian McCarthy confirmed Monday that Rodgers taking ayahuasca does not violate the league’s drug policy.

Rodgers, 38, recently credited the psychedelic drug for his MVP seasons in Green Bay.

The back-to-back MVP quarterback appeared on The Aubrey Marcus Podcast last week and admitted to consuming ayahuasca at his retreat to Peru in 2020, prior to the third of his four MVP seasons.

McCarthy said the psychedelic plant mixture wouldn’t have triggered a positive result on performance-enhancing drug tests, and doesn’t go against substance abuse policies implemented by the league and its players’ association.

Packers head coach LaFleur on Rodgers taking ayahuasca

Prior to the NFL announcing Rodgers did not violate its drug policy, Packers head coach Matt LaFleur was asked about his QB taking ayahuasca.

Reporters asked LaFleur if he was concerned about the league implementing a penalty on Rodgers.

I really haven’t given it much thought at all,” LaFleur said.

Rodgers also appeared on another podcast called Pardon My Take, where he discussed the COVID-19 vaccine and his imminent retirement.
