Amir Khan has confirmed that both he and his wife were robbed at gunpoint in the streets of Leyton on Monday evening.

The former world champion boxer was held at gunpoint as two men assaulted him and stole his watch, believed to be worth around £72,000.

“I just had my watch taken at gunpoint in East London,” Khan posted on Twitter.

“I walked across the street with Faryal, luckily, she was a few steps behind me. Two men ran up to me asking for my watch as he was pointing a gun to my face, the main thing is that we’re both safe.”
