We now know the eight remaining teams in this season’s Champions League, so the next step is the draw for the quarter-finals. The remaining English clubs – Manchester City, Liverpool and Chelsea – are amongst the favourites to go all the way, but the likes of Real Madrid and Bayern Munich will also fancy their chances. Stay with us for all the build-up to the Champions League quarter-final draw, followed by the draw itself from UEFA‘s headquarters in Nyon, Switzerland.

Champions League quarter-final draw

This is the start of our live blog for the Champions League quarter-final draw. There are no obstacles when it comes to who can play who at this stage of the competition, so any of the eight teams can face each other.

09:00 GMT: Villarreal and Benfica’s test

Villarreal and Benfica are the two teams that the remaining six will be looking to draw in today’s quarter-final draw, but they will be far from straightforward to play against. The Yellow Submarine have experience of going all the way to the Europa League final – and winning – from last year, while the Portuguese giants have beaten both Barcelona and Ajax this season.

08:30 GMT: When are the Champions League quarter-finals?

The first leg of the Champions League quarter-finals will take place on April 5 and 6, with the return fixtures a week later on April 12 and 13.

There are no rules regarding teams from the same country playing each other in the quarter-finals, or sides that were in the same group, so the draw is open and any team can face each other.
