The Los Angeles Galaxy secured its ticket to the Western Conference semifinals with a 1-0 win over Nashville SC on Saturday at Dignity Health Sports Park.

Julian Araujo scored the only goal of the night at the 60th minute to set up “El Trafico” on October 20.

Javier “Chicharito” Hernandez and Los Angeles FC forward Carlos Vela will face off for a Western Conference Final berth.

LA Galaxy returned to the MLS Cup Playoffs after missing the postseason the past three years.

Araujo’s header came after a first half with few scoring chances from either side.

VAR disallows Chicharito’s goal

The second half started with Chicharito leading a deadly counterattack that resulted in a disallowed goal after the VAR review.

Ten minutes later, Araujo beat Joe Willis and Nashville was unable to equalize when Jacob Shaffelburg‘s shot went just wide.

The city of Los Angeles will be divided Thursday when the Galaxy face LAFC and all its stars, led by Vela, Gareth Bale and Giorgio Chiellini.

LAFC remain the heavy favorites to reach the MLS Cup and win the whole thing.
