The Kansas City Criminal Department announced Tuesday that a police report has been made against the Vegas wideout against the guy who was shoved to the ground by Raiders receiver Davante Adams after Monday night’s football game against the Chiefs.

The man, who was recognized as a photographer at the game, claimed that following the assault, he made plans for “private transport” to the hospital before dialing 911 to report the crime. According to reports, the man’s wounds are “preliminarily assessed to be non-life-threatening.”

According to a statement from the KCPD obtained by NFL Media, “The incident will be investigated by our Assault Unit detectives. Upon conclusion, they will communicate with the proper municipal or state prosecutor to determine any applicable charges.”

The photographer filed a police report following the event, according to TMZ Sports, and was then taken to the hospital.

Following the Raiders’ 30-29 loss, Adams was spotted heading down the tunnel when a person who appeared to be a member of the media or a stadium employee dashed in his way. Adams retaliated by giving the man a two-handed shove that caused him to fall to the ground.

The Davante Adams incident

The Raiders wide receiver took a quick glance at the man before moving on down the tunnel. The man who had been shoved was helped to his feet by a nearby security guard.

Adams expressed regret for the shove after the game, claiming that the player who had been racing in front of him had caught him off guard. He also acknowledged his displeasure with how the game finished.

“He ran and jumped in front of me coming off the field and I bumped into him and kind of pushed him, and he ended up on the ground,” Adams told reporters.

“So I want to say sorry to him for that because that was just frustration mixed with him literally just running in front of me. I shouldn’t have responded that way, but that’s how I initially responded so I want to apologize to him for that.”

Adams, who had three receptions for 124 yards and two scores in the contest, also expressed regret on Twitter.

From a football perspective, the aftermath of the shove probably isn’t over either. According to Tom Pelissero of NFL Network, Adams will likely get punishment from the NFL for his behavior, which could include a suspension.

There is no timetable for when the league will make a decision; it is currently examining the circumstance.
