The NFL could be close to rendering a verdict on Deshaun Watson’s sexual misconduct case. The organization officially ended its investigation.

Sports Illustrated reporter Brandon Little revealed more details on the matter. Little stated that the league finalized its investigation and expects to provide the resolution “very soon.”

In addition, he detailed that it will be an independent arbitrator who will decide the possible suspension and punishment to the player. The new rules prevent the league from changing that verdict.

“From the beginning, we’ve shared everything with the NFL, we’ve shared everything with law enforcement, both the police and the district attorney’s office,” Rusty Hardin, the quarterback’s attorney, said.

Awaiting statement

Hardin also harbored some hope for the end of the investigation: “No one has interviewed the accusers in these cases. They’ve interviewed both sides, but they haven’t cross-examined them.”

The situation for Watson became more complex after the number of lawsuits increased to 24. Two more people joined the legal actions already filed.

According to the latest information, Watson has reportedly offered $100,000 compensation to each of the victims under a confidentiality agreement. However, there was no unanimous response.

Watson is awaiting an official statement. There are just over 3 months until the season officially begins. And soon there could be an answer.
