Only a few months after being traded to the Browns, Deshaun Watson found himself in trouble in Ohio when he was caught in June driving 97 mph in a 70 mph zone.

Less than three months after the Houston Texans traded the star quarterback to the Cleveland Browns in a big-ticket move, the Ohio State Highway Patrol claims to have caught him speeding in his G-Wagon in Sandusky.

On June 11, the 27-year-old was stopped by a police officer who reportedly questioned him whether he knew how fast he was traveling.

“Like, 97?” said Watson. “Yeah,” the officer responded, “I got you at 97.”

During the stop, Watson revealed that he had come into town from Detroit. The contact between Watson and the officer was friendly throughout. The QB received a ticket and was given permission to depart after a short while.

According to court documents, the issue was resolved on July 6 when Watson paid a $185 fee.

Deshaun Watson’s ongoing legal situation

After reportedly acting inappropriately toward many female masseuses during his time with the Texans, Deshaun is presently serving an 11-game suspension.

The quarterback, who has maintained his innocence in each instance, is permitted to play again for the Browns beginning in Week 13.

Watson is still expected to play against his previous team, the Texans, in week 13 despite the most recent sexual misconduct lawsuit being filed against him on Thursday, according to the NFL.

“Watson’s status remains unchanged. We will monitor developments in the newly-filed litigation; and any conduct that warrants further investigation or possible additional sanctions would be addressed within the Personal Conduct Policy,” said a league spokesperson.
