Eden Hazard, Belgium captain, was pleased with his performance in the 65 minutes he played against Wales in the UEFA Nations League and acknowledged that his situation at Real Madrid is “delicate” because he is content at the club but gets little playing time.

Hazard was signed from Chelsea in 2019 for a club record transfer fee, but has failed to make any impact as a Galactico, being riddled with injuries on a never-ending basis.

“It’s been a complicated time because I want to play and I don’t play,” Hazard said after the Red Devils’ 2-1 win over Wales.

“I feel good at Real Madrid, I just play less. And when I play, I play well.

“It’s a delicate situation because I want to play more.”

Although he admitted that “he could have done more,” Hazard, who was engaged and caused two yellow cards, claimed he was not surprised by the level displayed with his national team since he is confident in his skills.

“I know what I can do when I play,” added Hazard, who welcomed Roberto Martinez‘s decision to bring him into the starting XI.

“I want to get as many minutes as possible and be fit for the World Cup.”

Netherlands, who defeated Poland 2-0 to maintain their lead in the group after defeating Belgium 1-4 during their visit to Brussels in June, will play Belgium for the top spot in Nations League Group D on the upcoming Sunday in Amsterdam.

“We’re going there to play a good game,” concluded Hazard.
