After Richarlison‘s goal which put Brazil 2-1 ahead, several objects were thrown at the Tottenham striker from the stands, including several bottles along with a banana that landed right at his feet, although he didn’t seem to notice at the time.
The throwing of bananas at Brazilian players is sadly nothing new.
An infamous recent incident came at a Villarreal vs Barcelona match in 2014, which ended with Dani Alves taking a bite out of the fruit before facing the Madrigal stands.
