Erling Haaland has shown from the outset that he has come to Manchester City to become the goalscorer that Pep Guardiola‘s side have needed for several seasons.

The Norwegian striker made his debut against Bayern Munich and it took him just 12 minutes to score his first goal as City player.

City‘s new signing got on the end of a Jack Grealish cut-back to power the ball into an empty net from close range.

It was exactly the moment of excitement that the crowd in Wisconsin wanted, after the match had been delayed due to a thunderstorm in the area.

The match was then delayed for a second time after the start, with the storm not having passed through fully, much to the chagrin of the Lambeau Field crowd.

Guardiola has previously spoken about his need for a centre-forward after the departure of Sergio Aguero.

Moves to sign Harry Kane in 2021 proved to be unsuccessful, but Haaland may well live to be an even more astute signing for the English champions.
