Dallas Cowboys owner Jerry Jones confirmed the bad news that cornerback Anthony Brown suffered a season-ending Achilles injury in their Sunday Night Football thrashing of the Indianapolis Colts.

“[Brown] is out for the year in my mind,” Jones said. “Now they haven’t said that but he tore his Achilles and that’s probably going to be the case, and I’m sick for him.”

Jones, 80, also spoke to the press about NFL free agent wide receiver, Odell Beckham Jr., who is scheduled to visit the Cowboys’ facilities on Monday.

“I want this to work,” Jones said. “I want it to work. But that means I’m going to be trying to make it work. So I’m going to be looking for a reason to do, not reasons not to do.”

On a night that the Cowboys scored a franchise-best 33 points in the fourth quarter, Jones stated that OBJ would make the team even better.

Jones and the Cowboys have arguably been the organization who has most-aggressively sought out the services of OBJ.

The New York Giants and the Buffalo Bills are the other two contenders in the Beckham Jr. sweepstakes.

After the team’s SNF performance, it’s going to be hard for Beckham Jr. to refuse joining the roster.

Jones has reportedly pulled out all the stops for OBJ’s visit. Beckham Jr. is going to sit courtside at a Dallas Mavericks game Monday night before meeting with Dak Prescott the following morning.
