The King, who is practically a habit to watch him play on Christmas, was the scoring leader for the entire game, racking up 38 points to accumulate seven straight games with at least three scoring tens, the longest active streak in the entire NBA.

The Mavs had three players with at least 25 points scored, being the leader of all of them their great star, the Slovenian point guard Luka Doncic, who accumulated 32 units that added to the 30 units scored by Christian Wood and the 26 of Tim Hardaway Jr.

Dream Christmas for Luka Doncic and the Mavericks

Dallas scored more points in the third quarter (51) than it had in the entire first half (43) and finally got the home win on Christmas that had been denied in its only other opportunity 11 years ago when they were defeated by the Miami Heat 105-94 in their first game after their only NBA championship.

The Mavericks (18-16) are eighth in the Western Conference, while the Lakers (13-20) are 13th in the same standings. The next game for Dallas will be next Tuesday, December 27 when they host the New York Knicks, while Los Angeles will return to the court to visit the Orlando Magic on the same day.
