After falling from his bunk bed and hitting his head in Williamsport, Pennsylvania, a Little League World Series player from Utah is now in a medically induced coma.
Easton Oliverson is a player for the Snow Canyon team out of Santa Clara, Utah, that was in Pennsylvania to play in the Little League World Series, but unfortunately following his head trauma he had to be flown to a children’s hospital to undergo emergency surgery and save his life according to Fox 13 in Salt Lake City.
His uncle, Spencer Beck told TMZ Sports that his nephew is a really good kid, who’s also very loving, full of smiles.
“Just a fun, fun kid, so we’re all praying for him.”
What happened to Easton Oliverson at Williamsport?
Easton Oliverson had to be taken by flight to a children’s hospital in Danville, Pennsylvania following his fall.
He was found by one of his teammates, who asked for help after the fall woke him up, Easton’s uncle confirmed tp the Salt Lake Tribune.
“Had that other player not been wakened by him falling, he may not have made it,” he expressed.
Will Utah’s team still play in the Little League World Series?
This is the first time ever that a team from Utah has managed to reach a Little League World Series, they secured their spot as the Mountain Region representatives last Friday when they won the championship.
And according to multiple reports, Easton Oliverson’s dad, who’s also a coach in the team, wants them to play.
“While our hearts are heavy, we are committed as a team to have an opportunity to take part in something that is only dreamt about by others,” the team’s statement read.
