Napoli’s perfect start to the season continues, then, as do Juventus’ struggles. The Old Lady looks in urgent need of new blood. That’s all for now. Goodbye!

Napoli’s victory takes them to the top of Serie A with nine points from three games. Spalletti has become only the second Napoli manager in their history to win each of his first three Serie A matches in charge of the club. What a start to life he’s having in Naples. Juventus drop to 14th and are now winless in their last eight league games. Allegri is in serious trouble.

Napoli have come back from a goal down to sink sorry Juventus! Koulibaly’s late winner had a touch of fortune about it but Napoli more than deserved to win this match on the balance of play. Juventus were on the back foot all game. Their winless start to the season continues.

90′ + 5′ FULL-TIME: NAPOLI 2-1 JUVENTUS

90′ + 4′ The Stadio Diego Armando Maradona may be half empty but the Napoli fans are in fine voice. Ospina confidently claims a tired Juventus cross into the box. Napoli are seconds away from inflicting further misery on Juventus.

89′ Napoli have had 24 shots to Juventus’ eight all game. 14 of those have been in the second half when Juventus have only had two. You can’t say Napoli don’t deserve to win this based on those numbers. While they may be lucky to have been given the gift of Kean’s mistake, Juventus only scored from Napoli’s error too.

H. Lozano

Yellow Card

Napoli

88′ Lozano is booked for tripping Chiellini. Victory is almost in Napoli’s grasp.

87′ Suddenly Juventus have to attack, leaving themselves open. The visitors win a corner and Napoli defend it at the near post before going hunting on the break. Osimhen blazes over from the right of the box.

K. Koulibaly

Goal

Napoli

85′ GOAL! NAPOLI 2-1 JUVENTUS! Napoli finally take the lead after pressuring Juventus all game! It’s a fortunate goal but Napoli will take it all day long.

Napoli

73′ Insigne hobbles off with some assistance. Hopefully it isn’t that major an injury. Zielinski replaces him.

A. Ramsey

W. McKennie

Juventus

72′ Ramsey comes on for McKennie. He’ll slot straight into Juventus’ midfield.

72′ Juventus clear the corner at the near post. Insigne has tweaked something by taking it. While he receives treatment Juventus will make some changes. It looks like Insigne will be unable to continue.

H. Lozano

M. Politano

Napoli

72′ Napoli’s goalscorer Politano heads off. Lozano takes his place on the wing.

70′ Juventus’ attack breaks down and suddenly Napoli have space. Osimhen bears down on goal from the left and cuts onto his right foot, curling just over the crossbar. It takes a deflection so Napoli get the corner.

69′ Napoli are still dominating the play. All Juventus can do at the moment is try to ride it out. The visitors get possession for the first time in a while and play it neatly upfield.

67′ Kulusevski swivels and shoots from inside the D only to watch the ball fly over the crossbar.

66′ Ounas tees up an effort from way out that crashes against a Juventus man. Ruiz misjudges his square pass across the edge of the box and Juventus can finally get out. Morata draws in Lorenzo with some fancy footwork and earns a free-kick.

65′ Chiellini hands Napoli a corner which they take short and quickly. The ball ends up sailing out of play.

64′ Napoli are trying to turn the screw. Insigne jinks past one Juventus defender but can’t beat another. The visitors want to break but they have nowhere to go.

62′ Mario Rui shoots first-time as Napoli’s front line works the ball into his path. It’s a decent attempt at goal but it’s off-target.

61′ Napoli’s equaliser has given them confidence. Ounas blasts high and wide from the edge of the penalty area.

59′ Both teams exchange shots on goal. McKennie’s effort bounces wide of the left-hand post and Insigne runs onto the ball in the box and fires low for the bottom left corner. Szczesny is equal to it.

M. Politano

Goal

Napoli

57′ GOAL! NAPOLI 1-1 JUVENTUS! Politano draws Napoli level by firing home from a tight angle. Insigne goes for the top right corner from outside the box, forcing Szczesny to make a save. However, the Pole can only push the ball as far as Politano who rattles it into the far bottom corner!

55′ The free-kick comes in. Koulibaly barges into Bernardeschi and the decision goes Juventus’ way. The pair exchange stern words.

54′ Napoli are starting to get impatient. Insigne has a shot blocked and Politano complains at having his shirt tugged by Pellegrini. The referee awards the free-kick.

52′ Insigne angles a pass out wide right to Politano. Politano drifts inside to draw in Rabiot and win Napoli a free-kick just in front of the box.

50′ Anguissa makes a well-timed challenge to stop Juventus from countering down the right. There’s a tangle between Mario Rui and Bernardeschi and the free-kick goes Napoli’s way.

48′ Juventus get the corner away as Chiellini blocks Osimhen’s shot but Napoli are coming right back. Osimhen holds up the ball on the edge of the box before laying off to Politano. Di Lorenzo arrives on the scene to fire across goal but Osimhen is unable to reach it.

47′ Napoli pick up where they left by controlling the play. Ruiz sends a curling cross into the arms of Szczesny. The hosts quickly win possession back and Osimhen fires the ball against Chiellini to earn a corner.

46′ The second half gets underway. Juventus haven’t made any changes to their team.

A. Ounas

E. Elmas

Napoli

46′ Napoli make a substitution at half-time. Ounas is on for the booked Elmas.

Napoli had 70 per cent possession in the opening 45 minutes but had fewer shots on target than Juventus, two to the visitors’ four. Juventus have done very well at limiting the quality of Napoli’s chances. How will Spalletti respond at the break?

Juventus lead at the interval after Morata capitalised on Napoli’s defensive mistake. Napoli dictated the play for the vast majority of that first half but struggled to break down Juventus’ stubborn defence. More of this to come!

45′ + 1′ HALF-TIME: NAPOLI 0-1 JUVENTUS

45′ + 1′ Koulibaly spots an opportunity to go for goal from range and takes it. The defender can’t get sufficient power in the shot though and Szczesny catches it easily. That’s all for now.

M. Locatelli

Yellow Card

Juventus

45′ Locatelli’s booked for sliding in late on Anguissa near the touchline. There’ll be just one added minute at the end of this half.

44′ Morata shields the ball from Insigne near his own box and eases the pressure on Juventus by winning a foul.

41′ Locatelli sticks out a high foot to beat Osimhen to a loose ball and ends off coming off the worse. Mario Rui is next to go down after a fairly innocuous clash with Bernardeschi. Napoli’s left-back looks in some discomfort but will be OK to continue.

40′ Morata challenges for a header in the box. Koulibaly does enough to put the striker off and prevent him from keeping his header down.

39′ Politano tries to beat Rabiot to get into Juventus’ box but Rabiot holds the winger off. Politano gets an arm to the face for good measure. Spalletti signals his dissatisfaction.

37′ Juventus block Ruiz’s shot from outside the box. Napoli keep the pressure on though and Elmas nods straight into the arms of Szczesny with a teammate offside.

36′ Mario Rui takes down Manalos’ crossfield pass and beats De Sciglio down the left. Juventus manage to see the attack out though.

35′ Juventus keep disrupting Napoli’s rhythm by committing niggly fouls. Rabiot is the latest offender, tripping Di Lorenzo.

33′ Osimhen cuts across Chiellini on the edge of the box and takes a tumble. Napoli want a penalty but it isn’t forthcoming. The referee stops play so Osimhen can receive treatment though.

32′ The Napoli fans react with fury as Kulusevski clatters into the back of Anguissa. This time it’s just a free-kick.

E. Elmas

Yellow Card

Napoli

31′ Elmas earns an instant yellow card for scything down Kulusevski.

30′ Juventus counter down their left. Di Lorenzo is well-placed to reach the ball ahead of Kulusevski and shepherd it out of play for a goal-kick.

29′ Insigne’s whipped cross doesn’t beat the first Juventus defender at the near post. Napoli will rebuild.

28′ Elmas looks to hold up the ball and tempts Chiellini into pushing him over. Napoli will get the chance to put a free-kick into Juventus’ box from the right.

18′ Morata earns Juventus some time on the ball down their right as he’s stopped by Koulibaly.

14′ Osimhen heads towards goal from Politano’s cross but it’s not powerful enough to beat Szczesny.

12′ Di Lorenzo sends a cross into the penalty area and Napoli end up winning another corner. They really don’t deserve to be behind this early on, and yet they are.

6′ Napoli force another corner, this time down their left off Di Sciglio.

4′ It’s a strong start by Napoli then. Juventus look like they’re still settling into the game. There’s plenty of time for them to do so though.

2′ Chiellini hands Napoli an early corner. Politano sends it in and Di Lorenzo has a header blocked from a tight angle to the left of the box as he reaches Insigne’s cross.

1′ Napoli almost take the lead right away as Politano heads Insigne’s cross over from the centre of the box!

1′ And we’re underway here in Naples!

The two sides are out on the pitch at Stadio Diego Armando Maradona. Napoli will play in their traditional sky blue shirts and white shorts. Juventus are sporting their black-and-white striped shirts with black shorts.

In the last two seasons Napoli against Juventus has been a fixture of home wins with two wins for Napoli in Campania and two for Juventus in Turin. There’s only been one draw in the last 16 league meetings between these two sides. With one side almost assured to get three points, which side will get an early advantage over the other?

Napoli captain Insigne makes his 400th appearance for the club, becoming the fourth player in history to reach the milestone. Juventus make seven changes from their 1-0 home defeat to Empoli last time out.

Juventus have had a slow start this season as they’ve yet to pick up a win in Serie A. Max Allegri’s side’ struggles from the end of last season continue as they’ve won none of their last seven league games. Only three bosses in Juventus’ history have had a longer winless streak, the last being Carlo Parola way back in 1974. Allegri will need to pick up a win soon as Juve aren’t a club where failure is tolerated for long.

Serie’s A’s fifth- and fourth-placed finishers last season face off here as Napoli host Juventus. Napoli have picked up two wins from two so far this season under new boss Luciano Spalletti and could win their first three games in two consecutive seasons for the first time since 2012/13 and 2013/14, when they finished 2nd and 3rd respectively. It’s a promising start for Napoli as they aim to make it back into the Champions League.
