Real Madrid face what could be a season-defining match at the Bernabeu on Wednesday night against Manchester City and their supporters gathered to welcome the team in style ahead of the semi-final.

Carlo Ancelotti‘s men must overcome a 4-3 first-leg deficit if they are to join Liverpool in the Champions League final in Paris and no one is in any doubt as to the magnitude of the task.

Hundreds of Los Blancos fans lined the streets outside the stadium as the home team bus arrived. Madrid supporters chanted, waved flags and scarfs and set of flares and smoke bombs to show their support for the team.

MARCA journalist Juan Ignacio Garcia-Ochoa witnessed the team’s spine-tingling reception in person.

The fans and the players are united, especially so after the team wrapped up LaLiga Santander title at the weekend, and that bond and backing could give them a helping hand in this finely poised semi-final.
