Los Angeles Chargers wide receiver Mike Williams is expected to miss at least four weeks because of a sprained ankle. The information was brought to you by The Athletic insider Daniel Popper.

Williams was injured during the fourth quarter of the Chargers-Seattle Seahawks matchup. The receiver’s boot caught on the turf while suffering a tackle by Hawks cornerback Michael Jackson.

With Keenan Allen inactive for five games due to a posterior thigh muscle injury, Williams has taken over as the Chargers’ leading receiver for the first seven weeks of the 2022 season. The WR has already recorded 495 yards on 37 receptions and three touchdowns.

Charges is a hospital

The Chargers have had to deal with injuries throughout the season. In addition to Williams, cornerback J.C. Jackson, with a ruptured patellar tendon, and tackle Rashawn Slater, with a ruptured biceps tendon, are out for the season. Defensive end Joey Bosa is also out of action due to a groin injury, but the pass rusher is expected to return by the end of the season.

The Chargers have the week off during week 8 and only return to the field against the Atlanta Falcons in week 9.
