American drag racer Antron Brown drives the Matco Tools Top Fuel dragster for AB Motorsports and competes in the NHRA Camping World Drag Racing Series.
For his victories in the Top Fuel championships in 2012, 2015, and 2016, Brown is well recognized. The first African American to win the sport’s championship is Antron. Brown finished second in 2001 and 2006 and won 16 motorcycle races overall.
He actually enjoyed racing a Pro Stock Motorcycle when he first began professional drag racing, and he immediately became well-liked by both spectators and rivals.

Antron Brown Met His Wife Billie Jo Brown During His First Pro Stock Motorcycle Race
In 2001, Brown wed Billie Jo Brown. They have been together since since they met during Antron’s first Pro Stock Motorcycle event in Gainesville in 1998.
To commemorate their 21st wedding anniversary, Antron recently posted a picture of himself and his wife from their wedding day on Instagram. Because of their mutual respect and trust, the pair has been together for many years.
Billie has also consistently been her husband’s rock. In an interview with DonSchumacherRacing, she was asked what it’s like to have a spouse who is a race car driver. She said that he is the most supportive and humble man anyone could wish for.
Two sons and a daughter are the children of Brown and his wife Billie. For an NHRA racer, his children’s development comes before his professional accomplishments.
The family of Antron’s son, Anson, welcomed his interest in racing when he was eight years old and enrolled him in the Junior Dragster division.
Anson has demonstrated talent by taking home a number of Midwest Jr. championships. Super Series Later, on his 17th birthday in 2021, he chose to upgrade to a larger vehicle, and his parents surprised him with a Super Comp licensure course at Frank Hawley.
Antron’s other two children also pursue their interests in drag racing to carry on the family legacy, along with Anson, Adler, and Arianna. With assistance from his grandmother Dolores, who frequently attends races, Antron Brown’s grandfather was the one to initiate the Brown drag-racing gene in the family.
Later, Albert, the father of NHRA Racer, made the same professional decision as his grandfather. He was a sportsman drag racer and managed a septic tank service. Antron grew up watching races at Old Bridge Township Raceway Park in Englishtown, New Jersey, where his father and uncle, Andre Brown, competed.
After seeing his father and uncle race, he developed an interest in racing. He started motorcycle racing at the age of six and started motocross at the age of twelve, honing his skills on a track he created on the farm. He participated in his first drag race as a high school senior.
Similar to Antron, the Brown family’s 13-year-old Anson is now the fourth generation of drag racers. Additionally, his son Adler and other daughter Arianna have continued in his footsteps.
According to Brown, his kids have succeeded at Junior Dragsters from an early age and have picked up important life lessons. His son Anson won the Midwest Junior Dragster championship the previous year. The Brown family will now compete in the NHRA Summernationals across three generations.

Early life
Brown’s family moved to his grandmother’s 10-acre farm in rural Chesterfield Township, New Jersey, when he was six years old, following the death of his grandfather. Brown’s father Albert owned a septic tank service and competed in drag racing at the sportsman level. Brown lived in Trenton, New Jersey, until he was six years old, when his family moved to the farm. Antron began racing motorcycles at the age of six and motocross at the age of twelve, practicing on a track he built on the farm, where he also maintained the automobiles when he was a boy. As a senior in high school, he participated in his first ever competitive drag race.
Brown attended Northern Burlington County Regional High School prior to becoming a track star at Mercer County Community College in New Jersey as a sprinter and long jumper. He graduated from Mercer County Community College in 1997 with an associate’s degree in business administration. Brown’s athletic accomplishments earned him the nickname “Brown Lightning.” After receiving an opportunity to run track for Long Island University on a full scholarship, he was called by football player Troy Vincent, whose wife was married to Brown’s cousin, who was creating a racing team. Brown’s cousin was Brown’s wife.
Racing career
Between the years 1998 and 2007, Brown competed in the NHRA’s Pro Stock Motorcycle class. He spent his first three years in the division with Vincent’s Team 23 Racing. In the motorbike division, Brown was victorious in 16 events, and he finished a career-best second in points in both 2001 and 2006. He made the transition to Top Fuel dragsters in 2008. In 2012, 2015, and 2016, Brown was crowned champion of the Top Fuel class.
Personal life
Brown, his wife Billie Jo, and their three children Anson, Adler, and Arianna currently make their home in Pittsboro, Indiana. Additionally, he is a very devoted follower of Christ.

Brown made a guest appearance on the third season, episode 8 of the A&E reality show Storage Wars, titled “The Fast and the Curious.” Brown played the role of an appraiser in this episode. He also made an appearance in episode 3 of Idris Elba: No Limits, playing the role of Elba’s drag racing coach. In its current iteration, Top Gear America, he shares hosting duties with Tom Ford and William Fichtner. In the sixteenth season of the Discovery show Wheeler Dealers, Brown competed against a 1965 Barracuda that was driven by Ant Antstead. His opponent was in the driver’s seat.
