Former France international Adil Rami has blasted Argentina goalkeeper Emiliano Martinez for his attitude in the 2022 World Cup final.
The Aston Villa keeper was at the receiving end of criticism for his controversial celebrations and comments after the win against France on penalties.
“[Martinez is] the biggest piece of s**t in the world of football,” Rami wrote on Instagram, where he shared a picture of the Argentine.
“The most-hated man.”
Shortly after, Rami posted another story to show his support for Kylian Mbappe, who scored a hat-trick but failed to lead his team to glory.
“Mbappe traumatized them so much that they celebrate more the victory against our national team than their World Cup,” Rami noted.
The former Valencia and Sevilla defender, who had a tortuous relationship with famous actress Pamela Anderson, claimed that the Golden Glove award should have been handed to Morocco shot-stopper Yassine Bono.
“The Golden Glove is his,” Rami wrote, posting an image of the Sevilla goalkeeper.
After the game, Martinez revealed the reasons behind his controversial gesture with the Golden Glove award.
“I did it because the French were booing me,” he said.
“Pride does not work for me.”
