The NFL Network a moment at the end of the game between the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and Carolina Panthers, in which two referees approached the receiver, Mike Evans, allegedly to ask for his autograph, something that is prohibited in the CBA with the NFLRA.

What happened after the Panthers-Buccaeers game?

The referees singled out are sideline judge Jeff Lamberth and linesman Tripp Sutter, who were caught on video approaching the Bucs receiver in the tunnel at Bank of America Stadium, apparently to ask for his autograph, reported one of NFL Network’s insiders, Tom Pelissero.

Should the officials have asked for the player’s signature, they would be in violation of the rules established between the NFL and NFLRA, which specifically state that “game officials should not ask for autographs or memorabilia from players, coaches or any other team personnel.”

A memory of a game to forget for Mike Evans

On Sunday, the Buccaneers had a day to forget in losing 21-3 to the weak Panthers, particularly, Mike Evans, who caught nine passes for 96 yards, but dropped a fumble that gravitated the rest of the game.

On the third play of the game, Evans was left alone in the middle of the field on a long play where he ran a cross route. Brady put a pinpoint pass into his hands, however, the Pro Bowl receiver couldn’t catch the ball, which hit his hands and ended up on the turf.

Perhaps things would have been different for Tampa Bay had Mike Evans caught a ball that can routinely go down for any NFL-level receiver. While Evans probably made the most resounding mistake so far this season.

Tom Brady’s enormous frustration

From that point on, the game got tougher for the Bucs and in the end, Tom Brady finished the game visibly upset about the loss, which puts Tampa Bay with a 3-4 record.

Brady also had a negative mark in his illustrious career, after he threw 49 passes against the Panthers, but was unable to catch a touchdown, the most passes he has thrown in his career in a single game without a touchdown.
