After 17 seasons in the NFL, Ryan Fitzpatrick decided to end his career in the NFL.
At 39-years-old, Fitzpatrick retires from football, Tom Pelissero reported on Thursday.
According to Pelissero, former Bills teammate Fred Jackson shared a screenshot with an alleged text message from Fitzmagic.
Pelissero hinted that the former quarterback is negotiating with Amazon Prime.
He added that Fitzpatrick will have a broadcasting career “in his future.”
Ryan Fitzpatrick’s career
Ryan Fitzpatrick played for nine NFL teams during his NFL career.
He began his professional days with the St. Louis Rams in 2005. The Rams drafted Fitzpatrick in the seventh round.
The quarterback played 166 games, producing 34,990 passing yards and 223 passing touchdowns.
Ian Rapoport mentioned that “a hip injury-shortened” Fitzpatrick’s final year as he head into retirement.
Ryan Fitzpatrick in Talks with Amazon Prime Video
According to reports, Amazon Prime Video’s Thursday Night Football is negotiating with Fitzpatrick.
The New York Post reported that Fitzpatrick will join “a studio team that is expected to include Marshawn Lynch, Tony Gonzalez, and Richard Sherman.”
There’s no signed deal between amazon and the former NFL quarterback. However, there are intentions to join Fitzpatrick on the Thursday Night Football team that has not hired a host, yet.
After the Super Bowl, Amazon announced the incorporation of Al Michaels and Kirk Herbstreit as game broadcasters.
