New York Giants running back Saquon Barkley is the only silver lining to the franchise’s first defeat of the 2022 NFL season, a home loss to the Dallas Cowboys on Monday Night Football.

Barkley, 28, is one of only three players to have over 300 rushing yards through Week 3.

With 317 rushing yards to his name this season, Barkley only trails Cleveland Browns RB Nick Chubb (341) and leads Cordarelle Patterson (302) of the Atlanta Falcons.

Barkley continues to impress in what he predicted to be his bounce-back season.

Prior to the start of the season, Barkley appeared on The Pivot podcast and warned the league that he was better than ever.

Saquon Barkley is on a mission

Barkley racked up 81 yards on 14 carries against the Giants, including a 36-yard rushing touchdown.

He also had four catches for 45 yards, but his TD was one of the most impressive plays of the night, breaking multiple tackles on his way to the end zone.

Barkley is looking to make up for a couple of dissapointing seasons in which he failed to get past 600 yards for the year due to injury.

He already has half of the four rushing touchdowns he had in the entirety of last year, and wants to record his first 1000+ yard season since 2019.

Despite the Giants failing to start the season with three consecutive wins, Barkley’s TD provides a silver lining for the team moving forward, as they know he has potential to be the best RB in the NFL.
