Taylor Swift being such a big talking point in sports media was not on anyone’s radar heading into the 2023 NFL season. But here we are.

As sports media personalities grapple with the reality of the Swift and Travis Kelce relationship that has the Kansas City Chiefs in the middle of all of it, there has been plenty of negativity coming from the sports side. But not everyone is a hater.

Stephen A. Smith praises Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce

Appearing on the Howard Stern Show, Stephen A. Smith was first prompted on Kelce. Stern says Kelce has to marry Swift due to all the publicity he would get from it. Smith doesn’t think Kelce needs her as much as many believe.

“He is a two-time Super Bowl champion. Universally recognized as one of the greatest tight ends in the history of football. Good-looking dude, got style, got flair. He’s got a future in this business right here once he retires from football. He’s the total package.”

Despite going to bat for Kelce being able to become a superstar in various mediums by himself, Smith then delves into how much admiration he has for Swift. Something that he gained after seeing her on tour.

“I went to her concert. Man, it was off the chain. I loved it. I couldn’t believe how much I loved it. She was phenomenal. I was Taylor Swift receive a nine-minute standing ovation in between songs. No one was sitting down, the concert was three and a half hours, non-stop, there was no intermission. I stood up for the three and a half hours. I never sat down.”

It’s massive praise from Smith, who is a harsh critic when the time calls for it. It shows that not all sports media talking heads are annoyed by Swift entering the NFL picture.
