Tite is expected to part ways with Brazil after the 2022 World Cup in Qatar and the Brazilian Football Confederation (CBF) have already approached Pep Guardiola about succeeding the 60-year-old coach as Selecao head coach.

Brazil are currently putting all their efforts on achieving their primary target, which is to win the World Cup, but they are simultaneously making plans for the future of the national team.

Globo Esporte reported that Tite will depart the team after the World Cup, a few weeks after CBF director Juninho Paulista told MARCA that the Brazilian coach will “probably leave” after the tournament.

Guardiola is considered as the main candidate to succeed Tite after Ednaldo Rodrigues became president of the CBF at the end of March.

Members of the CBF agreed that Tite‘s successor will be from abroad, automatically viewing the Manchester City boss as the ideal person for the role.

January or summer of 2023

The CBF have already made contact with Guardiola‘s brother and agent, Pere, to offer the Catalan coach a four-year deal until the 2026 World Cup.

Should Guardiola put pen to paper on the aforementioned deal, he will be earning around 12 million euros after taxes, which is less that the 20m euros per year he earns at the Sky Blues.

Members of the CBF are very confident that Guardiola could become the new coach of the Selecao. The Catalan coach’s contract with Manchester City runs until 2023.

Therefore, one of the main questions is whether he will leave this summer or stay for next season and see out his contract.
