The mega fight between Tyson Fury and Oleksandr Usyk is nearing the final stages of negotiations, with promoters on both sides confirming it’s happening. Frank Warren (Fury’s agent) already revealed that the final details of both contracts are currently in development. He also said that none of both fighters will take on any interim fight for any of their belts before fighting each other. MEaning that the WBC, IBF, WBA and WBO titles will be on the line. Initially, none of both fighters were finding pathways to seal the deal but they finally did.

Usyk’s agent, Alex Krassyuk was asked by the folks at Sky Sports about the next steps, he revealed that all they need is to make the contracts and sign them. A verbal agreement has been reached by both parties and the entire world will get to watch this super fight. Usyk was the one who reached out the last time by attending Fury’s title defense against Derek Chisora in early December. This is what Usyk’s agent said: “Probably yes [the contracts have been issued], but we have not received them yet. Yes, we are on our way.”

WBC president is excited about Fury vs Usyk

WBC president Mauricio Sulaiman is over the moon for this super fight. He revealed that they have been attempting to unify the belts for years, since the days when Wilder and Joshua were champions. This is what he said, also to the golks at Sky Sports: “That’s a fight that the WBC has promoted and has fought for since several years when [Deontay] Wilder was champion and [Anthony] Joshua was a champion. We put all the flexibility and possibility of the WBC to participate in doing so. Now if Usyk comes into place and Fury fights him that would be a tremendous happening for the world.”

Until now, none of both champions have spoken about the deal nearing completion but they might say something on their social media channels. Tyson Fury has been taunting Usyk for months now, he always said that the Ukrainian fighter didn’t have the courage to face him for all the belts. In this case scenario, Usyk is the one who has more to lose because he is putting three belts on the line against Fury’s one belt.
