Ahead of his rematch with Anthony Joshua, Oleksandr Usyk‘s trainer has revealed the boxer’s absurd training routine that employed to prepare him for the bout in Saudi Arabia.

Usyk, who beat Joshua by unanimous decision the last time the pair met, almost drowned while preparing for the fight.

“When I think about Oleksandr Usyk, I am so proud to represent him,” Egis Klimas, Usyk‘s trainer, stated.

“I can tell you, I’ve never seen anybody in 45 degree heat ride a bicycle for 100 kilometres.

“I’ve never seen anybody swimming the day before the press conference in London for 1 kilometre in the pool for five hours.

“I never seen anybody holding his breath under water for four minutes and 40 seconds, almost passing out.

“When I asked him, ‘what’s wrong with you?’ he said, ‘I know I have a trainer behind me, he’s not going to let me drown, he’s going to pull me out’.”
