The relationship between former Yankees pitcher David Cone and the longtime lover Taja Abitbol, has apparently come to an end.

Since the beginning of the COVID-19 pandemic, Abitbol has been living in Florida with her 10-year-old son, Sammy, while the athlete resides in New York, and she has exclusively confirmed to Page Six that their relationship has grown “complicated.”

“We don’t know [what we are]. It’s rough with the travel situation. He’s always on the road. During baseball season it’s hard for us, and sometimes in the off-season it’s not hard for us,” she explains. “It’s complicated.”

According to Page Six’s sources, one has been “extremely generous with [Abitbol] financially” despite the breakup, and throughout their relationship “spent millions on her, bought her homes and helped support her.”

David cone hip replacement and Real Housewives controversy

David had a hip replacement on Monday morning, according to the Cone’s organization representative, so he was unable to respond. Abitbol didn’t appear to be with him during the procedure.

Abitbol had given the impression that she and David were still together when she referred to them as longtime lovers in the conversation, as she acknowledged in an interview with The The Post. In addition, she refuted claims that she lit a fire in order to audition for “The Real Housewives of New York City” by appearing on the show.

Abitbol claims that her neighbor is suing her in Manhattan Supreme Court over the fire because of her connection to Cone. He deliberately went after her.

She told The Post, “This guy is looking to sue me because David is a New York legend – he doesn’t deserve this, the poor guy.

They first connected at Taja, a French-Moroccan eatery on the Upper East Side that closed in 2007, and they later reconnected at a holiday party in 2010. Between them, there has never been a marriage.
