A teacher was left “confused” and “insulted” after opening up a Christmas present she was given by her school.
Teacher’s often receive cards or presents from students or parents near Christmas, but one teacher received an odd present from her school itself. Instead of a Christmas card, or some chocolate, one teacher received a Covid test as a present, reports The Mirror.
Taking to TikTok, @lil.yambs said she was left frustrated by the present. She was wondering whether she was being ungrateful of “a brat”, but many others also shared their confusion.
She said: “I’m confused. Is this a joke? I got my Christmas present from the school. It’s literally a Covid rapid test.” The American teacher then joked that the present must be her bonus for the year, adding the hashtag #teachersareunderpaid.

People from all-around the world weighed in with their opinions. One person wrote: “Those are the current free ones I just got in the mail today from the government,” while another added: “Sorry but omg I wasn’t expecting it to be this bad” with three laughing emojis.
A third added: “What??!? You can go online to the USPS website and request four of those tests for FREE!”, as someone else posted: “Just plain insulting – I’d rather have nothing!”
Other teachers have shared that they’ve never received gifts from their school, as one wrote: “Girl, all we got was a Merry Christmas announcement on the intercom”. Another added: “Last year we got served hot cocoa that was left over from an event for the kids lmao”.
