Brandon Staley praised Herbert’s leadership and toughness

Chargers head coach, Brandon Staley, told reporters on Friday that the team is evaluating Justin Herbert on a day-to-day basis and the first step is seeing how he evolves till next Wednesday, when they’ll determine if he can practice at all.

Justin Herbert has a nine-day window before his team’s next game against the Jacksonville Jaguars on September 25.

Staley added that even though he’s optimistic, they’ll have to wait and see until later in the week to know his status, but assured that the CT scan gave them better news than what they originally expected as it’s in the cartilage and not the bone.

“But again it’s just going to come down to comfort. It’s such a rotational position. We’re just gonna have to make sure that he’s comfortable. We’re not going to know more about how he feels until later on in the week.”

The head coach praised the leadership and toughness of quarterback Justin Herbert.

A sentiment that was echoed by Mike Williams, the Chargers wide receiver that had a tremendous game against the Chiefs.
